Hi, I’m Melissa

Initially, as the “shy girl and quiet girl,” I always spoke with a small voice. I was non-confrontational. I never stepped in the spotlight… that is, until I saw my first professional play at 12 years old. I decided I wanted to do THAT! I wanted to stand before a group of people and feel heard. I wanted to be seen

So, I pursued acting in Washington, DC. Little did I know this would begin my personal development journey toward finding my true self. But despite academic achievements, including an MFA in theatre pedagogy and a Ph.D. in theatre arts focused on acting theory, I felt incomplete — as if I were out of alignment with my true purpose in life.

My big breakthrough came when I began yoga and voice work, particularly the Lessac bodyvoice work, which allowed me to explore my true and authentic voice. But after becoming a mother, I felt my sense of self fading (as I know many mothers and caregivers do!). I was rocked by the extraordinary shift from being an intelligent woman coaching high-ranked professionals in their fields with their communication skills to being a sleep-deprived, Mommy-milk machine with little to no adult interaction in my day-to-day. But with my certification mentor's encouragement, I reconnected with my previous voice and yoga practices, regaining my footing and my sense of identity.

With my Integrative Studio, LLC courses and books, I now help other mothers and quiet souls do the same. Through my 700-hour yoga teacher certification and work as a Lessac Certified Trainer, I developed a unique system combining meditation, analytical tools from my actor training, teachings from the art of yoga, and Bodyvoice practices. With this system, I’ve helped everyone from moms fighting for custody in court to courtroom lawyers, to middle managers and vice presidents of major companies trying to stay present and productive in work and home, and people just like you and your neighbors discover their true voice and authenticity — allowing them to step forward with renewed confidence, empowerment, and alignment.
