Is It a Love of Learning or Is It Imposter Syndrome?

Are you constantly up-leveling your certifications, degrees, and training thinking that THIS NEW EDUCATION will be the key to bettering your life and/or career?

Do you imagine that once you complete the next level of education, then you can truly live as your highest self?

Two harder questions:

  • Are you implementing what you are learning to take messy action in the here and now?

  • Are you scared to put it into action?

Here’s the thing:  it’s fantastic to keep learning new things and enhancing your understanding of a topic. I’m a big supporter of that.

Unless you actually SHOW UP with that new skill set in MESSY ACTION, you might be caging yourself in the expression of imposter syndrome called “The Expert.”

This expression of imposter syndrome believes you don’t deserve your best life unless you get more education, can impress your peers and clients with more training, or that you will finally deserve your title or salary if you take on more training to wear “those shoes.”

SLAM THE BRAKES! This is going to make you crazy…and broke.

  • Step back.

  • Take a look at all of the experiences you have.

  • Look at all of the wins you have earned (yes! I said EARNED) up until now.

I bet you are doing just fine. I bet your peers and clients are very happy with you.
Trust in what you have and step into messy action. Just do it-- move forward and rewire your brain to focus on COMPETENCY and not lack.
